Wesley’s Newcomer Programs support the successful settlement, integration, and long-term inclusion of Government-Assisted Refugees (GARs), asylum seekers, refugee claimants, and other newcomers to Canada. Through a coordinated continuum of services, the department helps individuals and families navigate complex settlement challenges while building pathways to self-sufficiency and community participation. The portfolio includes:

• Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP), delivering immediate and essential resettlement services to Government-Assisted Refugees upon arrival.
• Settlement – Client Support Services (CSS), providing individualized case management services, service navigation, referrals, and coordinated support for eligible newcomer populations.
• Asylum Seekers Assistance Program (ASAP), delivering a comprehensive wraparound service model that includes transitional shelter, housing supports, on-site case management, and employment support.

Through these programs, Wesley facilitates access to housing, healthcare, income supports, community orientation, language learning, employment pathways, and other essential services. The department works to reduce barriers, promote self-reliance, and strengthen newcomer outcomes while contributing to more welcoming, equitable, and inclusive communities.
