Wesley’s Employment Services, delivered under the oversight of Fedcap Canada, the Service System Manager (SSM) for the Hamilton-Niagara Region, support youth and adults who are unemployed, underemployed, or seeking to explore new career paths. Funded by Employment Ontario, our services are designed to help job seekers gain the skills, tools, and confidence needed to achieve meaningful and sustainable employment, while also assisting employers in meeting their workforce needs.
Our services include:
- One-on-one career exploration, planning, and goal setting
- Assessment of skills, interests, and experience
- Job search strategies, including resumé and cover letter development
- Interview preparation and job readiness workshops
- Referrals to training, education, and employer-based incentives
- Support with Better Jobs Ontario applications
- Specialized services for Internationally Trained Professionals, including credential recognition guidance and employment pathways
- Access to Power of Possible employment preparation workshops
Clients receive tailored, client-focused support from experienced Employment Consultants. Our mobile case managers are available to meet clients in the community, providing flexible, accessible service upon registration.
Wesley’s Employment Services office also provides in-person support for walk-in clients, ensuring immediate access to job search assistance and available resources.
Program: The Power of Possible
The Power of Possible (POP) is a FREE program that prepares jobseekers to become an asset in the workplace and to begin on a path of individual economic wellbeing.
This is a dynamic and innovative program that includes skills for job seeking, self-management tools, and a structured, active job search curriculum. The 10 -day training includes 30 hours of instruction and time management activities, ensuring jobseekers arrive at the workplace equipped to work effectively in whichever areas their employer requires.

Program: Newcomer Employment Preparation Workshops
Wesley’s Newcomer Employment Preparation Workshops support individuals new to Canada in building the skills and confidence needed to enter the local job market. This in-person, five-day program covers transferable skills, workplace expectations, communication, documentation preparation, goal setting, and strategies to overcome employment barriers specific to newcomers.
The workshops are open to any newcomer registered with Wesley Employment Services. Participants must complete a simple intake/registration to be eligible and identify as a newcomer seeking employment.
Eligible participants may receive a stipend of up to $250, with case managers assisting with required income reporting. To reduce barriers, bus tickets, interpreter support, light snacks, and daycare assistance are available. Small group sizes and personalized support help newcomers build job-readiness and move toward sustainable employment.
