EarlyON: Supporting Kids like Caleb

Caleb has been a wonderful addition to Wesley’s Beasley EarlyON family. He’s been attending for approximately a year with his mother, Kelly.

The EarlyON Child and Family Centres provide early learning and family-centred support for children up to six years of age and their families and caregivers. Here, they can participate in a safe, welcoming environment with workshops and make personal connections. Wesley’s Registered Early Childhood Educators provide support in many languages so families can access many resources.

At Beasley, Caleb is shy but full of silly faces and fast movement, which keeps Kelly on her toes.

Caleb’s favourite thing to do at EarlyON is to dump things onto the floor. Kelly, with her unwavering patience, helps Caleb clean up his toys.

Kelly came to the EarlyON with hopes of building Caleb’s confidence and helping him socialize with children his age.

He hesitated about the routines as he familiarized himself with the EarlyON space. However, with determination, he has started to excel in the program. Caleb once had a fear of bubbles, but with a gentle approach and reassurance, his fear is now a thing of the past.

Positive interactions make a difference for him at the EarlyON. Kelly appreciated how well the space is set up and how inclusive the toys are for all age groups. “He doesn’t get bored because there’s an excellent variety of toys,” she said.

Wesley appreciates Kelly and Caleb. We look forward to watching Caleb grow and thrive in this wonderful environment, and we thank them both for making us a part of their lives.
