Volunteers play a critical role in the success of Wesley.

Please Note: Due to COVID-19 most volunteer opportunities have been temporarily put on hold.

Our volunteers are actively engaged at all levels of our organization and in many capacities. Volunteers are involved with program support and delivery, administration, event planning, leadership and many hands on opportunities.

Most notably, our dedicated volunteer team generously gave over 10,000 hours in the past year, demonstrating the dedication and commitment of our hard-working volunteers.

If you enjoy flexible shifts, a wide-range of opportunities, and want to support those experiencing poverty, apply online today!

What you should know about our volunteer process:

  • Volunteers in programming are required to be 18 years or older.  Opportunities for younger volunteers are available with our special events, in groups or at the discretion of the supervisor.
  • All reoccurring volunteers are required to complete either an online or paper application, collect two references, obtain a police check (type of police check determined after volunteer is placed in a program), and complete an orientation (register online below!).
  • Most special events do not require volunteers to complete an application or police check and can include younger volunteers (with supervision)

Staff, volunteers and contractors (ex. Wesley Interpreters) are required to submit proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to Wesley Human Resources . In the event that staff, volunteers and contractors are unable to get their COVID-19 vaccination, completion of an educational session and weekly antigen testing to provide a negative result will be required. Additional requirements may be needed in some programs according their funder.
