Dear Friends of Wesley,
Executive Director Don Seymour has given notice of his resignation, effective March 3, 2023. He has accepted a new position which is also a career change for him, and we trust you will join us in wishing him well on his new path.
Don started in January 2020 and led Wesley through the most challenging days of the pandemic. Wesley set up a COVID isolation unit, helped thousands of refugees from Afghanistan and Ukraine resettle in Hamilton, and opened the Riverdale Child Care Centre in Stoney Creek.
Wesley’s programs remained strong throughout his tenure, including child care and Early ON centres, outreach to help people experiencing homelessness, temporary housing for refugees, and supportive housing programs for young people, people with addictions, and those with disabilities.
Don has built a highly capable team to keep the organization operating well while we begin the search for his replacement. Under his leadership, the team has deepened their relationships with community partners to address the root causes of homelessness and create innovative solutions.
With gratitude for your ongoing support, Wesley will continue transforming the lives of those most in need in our community.
Sincerely,
Julie Vernon, Chair of the Board
Wesley
