#WEareWESLEY – Meet Liz

Meet Liz, the passionate Manager of Social Enterprise at Wesley. Liz is highly talented in culinary arts and supporting newcomers to Canada. Initially, a newcomer, Liz understands the challenges of adapting to a new country and culture and has made it her mission to help others settle in Canada. 

Through her social enterprise, The First Start Cafe and catering services, Liz provides newcomers with valuable food service experience and helps them to build their skills and confidence. Whether learning to cook new dishes or gaining experience working in a fast-paced kitchen, Liz’s team provides a safe and supportive environment for newcomers to thrive. 

But the impact doesn’t end there. Liz also provides delicious meals and catering services to the community through The First Start Cafe. By using local, fresh ingredients, often grown at the First Start Farm, another Wesley social enterprise, and preparing everything in-house, Liz and her team deliver mouth-watering healthy, culturally equitable, and sustainable food. 

At Wesley, we’re proud to have Liz on our team. Her dedication and passion for supporting newcomers are genuinely inspiring, and we’re thrilled to have her leading the way in our social enterprise initiatives.
