Knapsack drop-offs for 2019 begin August 12 – stay tuned for updates!

Hamilton has the third-highest poverty rate in Ontario, and that translates to more than 6,000 kids in our community battling the unfair effects of poverty.

By participating in our 2019 Knapsack Drive, you can help these children start school in September ready to succeed!

What’s a Knapsack Drive?

For the last 8 years, Wesley has run a knapsack drive to ensure that kids in Hamilton start school in September with a fresh new knapsack and all the supplies they need.

Each year, we collect donations of knapsacks and school supplies, as well as monetary donations and we assemble knapsacks full of much-needed school supplies to give to children in need living in Hamilton, before the school year begins.

This is a very popular program at Wesley, but it isn’t possible without support from the community.

How can I get involved?

For this year’s knapsack drive, we are accepting  knapsacks and school supplies, as well as monetary donations to allow us to purchase knapsacks and supplies in bulk on your behalf.

If you’d like to donate knapsacks or school supplies, you can drop them off starting August 12, 2019 at our OEYC location, at 155 Queen St. N (lower level) between 9am-4pm Monday to Friday in Hamilton.
