34% of children living in lower Hamilton wards are impoverished, according to new report by Social Planning and Research Council of Hamilton

By participating in our 2017 Knapsack Drive, you can help these children start school in September ready to succeed!

What’s a Knapsack Drive?

For the last 8 years, Wesley has run a knapsack drive to ensure that kids in Hamilton start school in September with a fresh new knapsack and all the supplies they need.

Each year, we collect donations of knapsacks and school supplies, as well as monetary donations and we assemble knapsacks full of much-needed school supplies to give to children in need living in Hamilton, before the school year begins.

This is a very popular program at Wesley, but it isn’t possible without support from the community.

How can I get involved?

For this year’s knapsack drive, we are accepting  knapsacks and school supplies, as well as monetary donations to allow us to purchase knapsacks and supplies in bulk on your behalf.

If you’d like to donate knapsacks or school supplies, you can drop them off starting August 1, 2017 at our OEYC location, at 155 Queen St. N (lower level) between 9am-4pm Monday to Friday in Hamilton. Donate early to ensure all our Summer Campers get a Knapsack on the last day of camp on Friday August 11 2017.

To make a monetary donation online, click the button below to get started.  Or you can make a donation over the phone at 905 528 5629 ex. 248 or 240 or mail a donation to Wesley Urban Ministries 52 Catharine Street North Hamilton ON L8R 1J1.
