Now more than ever, your support helps Wesley provide critical supports to some of Hamilton’s most vulnerable people.

As our community responds to COVID-19, Wesley Day Centre has been declared an essential service by the City of Hamilton and our organization has been working to continue to support our staff, community and volunteers through this time.

If you are looking for ways to support Wesley at this time, please consider making a financial donation online to our COVID-19 Emergency Response FundAll donations to this fund will be used to buy emergency supplies, prepare food for street-involved and marginalized people, as well as support and supplies for front line and healthcare workers. You can make a secure one-time donation here. To discuss our funding needs and the specific impact of your donation, contact

Other ways to support Wesley:

Donating items, food etc.

Thank you to everyone who has expressed interest in supporting our work with practical, in-kind donations. At this time we cannot accept these donations at our locations and request you follow the recommendations of Public Health and our governments to stay home and exercise physical distancing. Please consider a financial donation instead. These donations will be used to purchase basic need items for the people we support as well as other essential items needed for dealing with the pandemic.

During your regular trip to your grocery store, you can drop off donations of hygiene items, cleaning supplies, non-perishable food and bulk amounts of food takeaway containers at Hamilton Food Share bins, such as at Fortinos (50 Dundurn St S, Hamilton) and Metro at Fennell/Upper Gage (967 Fennell Ave E. Hamilton).

Donating medical supplies

Like many other service providers, our staff and volunteers continue to need access to face masks (manufactured or homemade/diy), gloves, hand sanitizer, cleaning and disinfecting products, toilet paper and other critical items. If you have items to donate, please contact us at and we will work with you to arrange this. Please do not visit our sites to drop items off.

Volunteer with specialized healthcare skills
Please note, all regular volunteer opportunities have been cancelled until further notice. We are however currently looking for skilled volunteers to help in the Wesley Day Centre and the City of Hamilton isolation centres for the homeless. Contact if you are a retired health care professional, student (ex. medicine, nursing, physician assistants), foreign trained doctor or have related professional experience.
