Services

Special Care Unit

The Special Care Unit is a substance use and harm reduction program that uses a client-centered, strengths-based approach to programming. The Unit is a transitional residential program aimed at providing a safe place for people to stabilize and move through self-defined change at their own pace. Program staff work as a team to provide cost-effective, evidence-based health and social support for homeless individuals experiencing substance use and mental health concerns.

The program provides harm reduction services, including managed consumption of alcohol and a range of medications and treatments to help people on their journey toward permanent housing, where we continue to provide follow-up case-management services as needed.
