ABOUT US
Equity, Diversity & Inclusion

This is important to us.

At Wesley, our unwavering commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) serves as the cornerstone of our organization. We actively strive to break down barriers, fostering an inclusive community through our programs and services.

Recognizing that true equity requires proactive efforts beyond mere acknowledgment, we continuously evolve to address systemic disparities to meet the needs of program participants.

Wesley staff take pride in being part of an organization that reflects the diverse communities we serve. Through deliberate recruitment, training, and promotion practices, we cultivate a workforce that reflects the vibrant tapestry of our community. Our dedication to diversity goes beyond representation; it’s a genuine celebration of the richness that emerges from embracing differences.

Our staff collectively speaks over 60 languages, and our EDI Committee is comprised of employees representing various racial, cultural, and LGBTQ2SIA+ backgrounds. We foster courageous conversations, challenge assumptions, and value the unique perspective of each individual. We actively seek employees with a valuable blend of cultural knowledge and lived experiences to complement their formal qualifications.

Wesley remains proactive, welcoming feedback, learning from mistakes, and championing changes that enhance the quality of life for both our staff and those we serve. Adhering to the Ontario Human Rights Code, we maintain a zero-tolerance policy for violence, harassment, or discrimination.

Join us as we continue to build an organization where equity is an expectation, diversity is a wellspring of strength, and inclusion is the very essence of who we are.
