What are Third Party Events?
Third Party Events are organized by community groups (e.g. school groups, unions or corporations) to help raise funds necessary for Wesley to operate our programs and services. Wesley Staff will help support your event every step of the way but does not organize the activities.
Here are some ideas to get you started. Be as creative as you like!
A-thons: Almost any activity can be made into an “A-Thon”. Get participants to raise pledges and sign up for any number of a-thon appropriate activities. Eg. Cut, skip, read, dance, knit, swim, bowl, skate, spin
Birthday Party and Wedding Registry: Are you the couple that already has everything ? Does your child want to help out the less fortunate? Why not ask guests to make a donation to Wesley in lieu of purchasing a gift to be donated in your honour.
Dine For A Cause Events: Do you own a local restaurant or bakery. Consider getting staff and patrons to support Wesley by creating a Prix Fixe menu, donate a portion of sales or tips from an evening or donating $1.00 per sale of baked cookie/pastry.
Galas/Parties: Essentially a ticketed event where proceeds are directed to Wesley Eg. Black tie dinner or semi-formal, benefit concert, garden tour, art show, performance of a play, BBQ beach party, boat cruise, food fair, dance, celebrity luncheon, talent/fashion show.
Holiday Party: Is your office hosting a Holiday Party this year? Consider making Wesley your charitable partner and asking employees to make a donation in lieu of a Secret Santa.
Raffles & Auctions: Set up prizes or incentives and hold a raffle for a chance to win things like, a day off, company swag or products, free lunch, or any other items. Or, hold a 50/50 draw that can definitely give you the extra push you need to reach your fundraising objective. Host a silent or live auction at your next event, meeting or in your office and have people bid on items in support of Wesley.
Sporting Events and Tournaments: Host a sports game or tournament with an entrance fee, or have participants raise money to participate. Split the pot or donate it all to Wesley! Eg. Baseball game, football game, golf tournament, tennis tournament, poker tournament, ping pong/pool/billiards/darts tournament, soccer tournament.
