Group Volunteering Opportunities

There are special volunteer opportunities for groups, including Wesley’s No Charge Christmas Store, Wesley Day Centre Sunday Dinner, sorting donations, distributing flyers in the community and neighbourhood clean ups. These volunteer opportunities are typically a one time or annual commitment. Our Volunteer Policy is that group volunteers need to be 14 years or older and youth need to volunteer with a guardian.

Wesley Centre Sunday Dinner

Each Sunday between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm, groups of  7 to 12 individuals prepare and serve Sunday Dinner at Wesley Day Center for approximately 210 men and women. With the involvement, dedication and generosity of almost 50 groups, Wesley Centre Sunday Dinner program annually serves 11,000 meals to men and women. There are two levels of participation for groups:

  • Purchase, prepare, deliver and serve the Sunday Dinner
    or
  • Donate $450 for Wesley Urban Ministries to purchase the food, approximately $3. per person. The group then prepares and serve the Sunday Dinner.

Groups can also choose to lead the Wesley Day Centre Sunday Worship with Wesley’s Minister. If your group is unable or wishes to not lead the Worship Service, Wesley’s Minister can so do on her own.
