Wesley Youth Housing Program
Program Description: Wesley Youth Housing is a transitional housing program offering 19 units of furnished housing for homeless youth/youth at risk of homelessness, 16-21 years of age. The goal of the program is to assist youth to develop the skills required for living independently in the community.
During stage “IN”, residents live in a pod, where they have their own private, locking bedroom and share a kitchen, living room and washrooms with two other pod mates. In this stage, residents work hard to learn various life skills while attending school or working. Youth can live in stage “IN” for up to one year. Residents then may graduate to stage “UP”.
In this stage, residents practice the skills they have learned in stage “IN”, while living in their own bachelor apartment units. Residents can live in stage “UP” for up to one year also. Assistance is available to support residents to find stable housing in the community and to continue to support them as they live in the community.
Access to Services: Homeless youth/youth at risk of homelessness, ages 16-21, must be willing to attend school or work, must have a source of income or be eligible for OW or ODSP, and be willing to participate in the program. Please see description, application and video attached.
